Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Announces Memories of Miss O’Keeffe Broadcast on PBS
New Mexico PBS presents the short documentary’s
broadcast premiere
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—March 26, 2017 (Santa Fe, NM)— The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum is excited to announce the broadcast premiere of the new film Memories of Miss O’Keeffe on New Mexico PBS / KNME Channel 5 on Thursday, April 5. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Chris Eyre (Smoke Signals, Skinwalkers), and produced by the Museum, this short documentary tells the story of generations of the Lopez family, who worked for O’Keeffe at her home in northern New Mexico during the artist’s later years.
“Memories of Miss O’Keeffe gives an intimate look at a living legacy. The perspective and dedication of the Lopez family is wholly unique,” says director Eyre. “It’s part of the O’Keeffe story that really hasn’t been told before.”
“Miss O’Keeffe had a great impact on our family – and still does,” says Agapita Judy Lopez, who features in the film. Lopez began working as an assistant to O’Keeffe as a teenager. She is presently the Museum’s Director of Historic Properties. “We are very proud to be a part of this film, and thrilled that it’s going to show on our local PBS station.”
Memories of Miss O’Keeffe will air on New Mexico PBS / KNME Channel 5, on Thursday, April 5, at 7:00 PM.
