Family Day: Celebrating “Tewa Nangeh/Tewa Country”

  • Sunday, November 9
  • 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM MT
  • 217 JOHNSON STREET, SANTA FE, NM

Join us to celebrate the art, culture, and landscapes of the Tewa people.

Join us for a very special Family Day celebrating our newest exhibition, Tewa Nangeh/Tewa Country. This exhibition honors Tewa people, art, culture, and landscapes, while drawing awareness to the erasure of the Tewa presence from the story of Georgia O’Keeffe in Northern New Mexico. Through hands-on artmaking, story time, and cultural exchange, learn more about the past, present, and future of Tewa land and how we can come together as a community to preserve the place that has captivated and inspired artists for centuries.

10:30 AM—2:30 PM | Abstract Collage Landscapes inspired by the art of Eliza Naranjo Morse, Michael Namingha, and Arlo Namingha

11 AM—12 PM | Story Time with the Santa Fe Public Library

11 AM—1 PM | Creative Activities with the Santa Fe Children’s Museum

Planning to stop by for Family Day? RSVP ahead of time! While registration is not mandatory to attend, registering ahead of time helps us prepare. Thank you for helping us out!

Large pinkish/orange shell that dominates most of the canvas, with a much smaller shell beside it on the lower left. Both are oval in shape and open to their undersides, exposing the dark glossy pink of the inside of a shell. They are nestled on a white cloth or tissue paper that has folds suggesting a depth, as if the objects are in a box. The larger shell is chipped on it's upper left tip.
