Join us in Abiquiú to explore the art of botanical illustration!

Join botanical artist Helen Byers in this one-day workshop to explore a contemporary botanical illustration technique combining colored pencil and watercolor pencil. Inspired by plant specimens from Georgia O’Keeffe’s Abiquiú garden, we’ll look closely at their forms and textures, and work in layers to draw them in detail. The course includes personalized instruction, in-depth demonstrations, and a relaxed atmosphere.

All supplies provided. All levels welcome.

This class is suitable for adults and youths ages 14 and up. Participants are welcome to bring snacks and a water bottle—the Welcome Center has a filling station.

This class will meet at the O’Keeffe Welcome Center, located at 21120 US-84, Abiquiú, NM 87510. Registrants will be notified 24 hours in advance if the lesson is to be canceled.
