Online Class: Cross-Contour Drawing for Nature Close-ups

  • Friday, April 28
  • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM MT
  • Online

Space is limited, registration required. Please email contact@gokm.org or call 505.946.1000 for assistance with event registration.

Join us for a focused practice of nature drawing in close-up view, inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s pencil studies of Irises containing distinctive cross-contour lines. The interactive demos and instructions will guide you through the process of cross-contour drawing to capture the illusion of volume with thin and thick lines running across the surface of the object following its turns and changes in direction. This intermediate-level class is designed to make drawing accessible and enjoyable by focusing on the meditative process of observational drawing.

This class is suitable for youth ages 12 and up. Children are welcome to participate alongside their adults.

Space is limited, reservations required.

This program will take place via the video conferencing app – ZOOM. Details for accessing the Zoom meeting will be with your receipt upon registering and again sent via email the day prior. Please register in advance in order to access the program.

Note that all program times are in Mountain Time.
