Family Fun Day: Meet Bo and Chia!

  • Sunday, September 10
  • 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM MT
  • EDUCATION ANNEX, 123 GRANT AVENUE, SANTA FE, NM

Join us the second Sunday of September to celebrate our brand new Family Activity Guide, which takes you through the museum galleries with Bo and Chia as your guides!

Who are Bo and Chia? Bo and Chia were Georgia O’Keeffe’s first Chow Chow puppies, who were given to her for Christmas in 1953. She loved Bo and Chia very much, and fondly referred to them as “little people.” Georgia and her chows spent a lot of time together— from watching the sunrise together in the mornings, to long walks around her Abiquiu property in the afternoons. Join us the second Sunday of September to celebrate our brand-new Family Activity Guide, which takes you through the museum galleries with Bo and Chia as your guides! Through a variety of hands-on artmaking, creative activities, and story time, families can get to know our new furry friends.

Family Fun Day is a free event for all who attend. Participating families will receive a pass for free admission into the Museum! Please visit us first in the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Education Annex (located at 123 Grant Ave) when you arrive to receive your day pass, campus map, and schedule of activities for the day.

The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum is proud to introduce Family Fun Day! Occurring on the second Sunday of every month, this event aims to bring the community together through hands-on artmaking and storytelling, as well as encouraging kids and families to take a new approach in looking at and interacting with art. Family Fun Day is offered in partnership with the Santa Fe Children’s Museum and Santa Fe Public Libraries.
