Applications for Fall 2026 are now open! Please apply by May 15, 2026.

The Mobile Artist-in-Residence (MAiR) program invites one Northern New Mexico-based artist to spend eight weeks using the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s Art to G.O. Truck as a mobile creative studio. Inspired by O’Keeffe’s deep connection to place, her spirit of experimentation, and her belief that creativity belongs in everyday life, this residency is all about collaboration, curiosity, and showing up with community.

At the core of MAiR is the idea that art grows through connection. We’re looking for artists living and working in Northern New Mexico whose work involves building relationships, listening, and making things with others. That might look like hosting workshops, shared experiments, or co-creating something with a community you’re already connected to. Maybe it’s making adobe bricks together with neighbors, organizing a community dance party, writing ekphrastic poetry about a place, or building something collaborative like a quilt. The goal is to create something that is honest and responsive to the people and places you engage.

The residency is supported by the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s Learning & Engagement and Curatorial teams to make sure you have what you need. We’ll help schedule, coordinate, and check in, but the creative direction is yours.

What We Value

  • Collaboration & relationship-building
  • Process over perfection
  • Place-based engagement
  • Experimentation & flexibility

Who Can Apply
