Georgia O’Keeffe famously kept Chow dogs after moving to New Mexico, and her love for her pets is well-documented in the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s Library and Archive. In this talk with Museum Librarian Bonnie Steward, dive into the Library and Archive to learn more about O’Keeffe’s furry friends and some of her favorite pastimes.

About the Speaker


Bonnie Steward
joined the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in 2023.
As the Librarian, she manages the day-to-day operations and activities of the Museum Library, including overseeing cataloging and circulation, reference and public services, and collection preservation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and a master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Professionally, Bonnie aspires to dedicate her work to preserving material culture as a foundation for strength and resilience in communities.
