Join Francisco Uviña-Contreras, Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico’s School of Architecture and Planning, and Giustina Renzoni, Director of Historic Properties at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, to learn about the rich history surrounding adobe architecture in New Mexico.

December’s Mornings with O’Keeffe program will begin with a historical overview of adobe from Professor Francisco Uviña-Contreras, who will explore the ways in which this versatile building material intersects with culture, construction, and conservation. Giustina Renzoni will then bring this context to a discussion of how adobe is represented in Georgia O’Keeffe’s New Mexico properties, particularly her Abiquiú Home & Studio. Finally, Francisco and Giustina will discuss the past, present, and future of adobe in New Mexico before turning to the audience for a Q&A.

This event is virtual and free to attend. Please register in advance. Email contact@gokm.org or call 505-496-1000 for assistance with event registration.
