First Friday: Start your Zozobra night at the O’Keeffe

  • Friday, September 1
  • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM MT
  • Santa Fe, NM

Enjoy extended hours and free admission from 5-7 PM!

Start your Zozobra night at the O’Keeffe Museum. Enjoy a calming space before the big event with a guided drawing session with teaching artist Morgan Jones. Georgia O’Keeffe would often sketch her own emotions or physical feelings, she portrayed a “headache” in Special No. 9, 1915, and Jones will guide attendees in sketching their own feelings of anguish, anxiety, or gloom to prepare for the burning of Zozobra and a peaceful year ahead.

Join us for extended hours at the Museum on the First Friday of every month! Admission is free from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

Make it an art-filled evening and visit our First Friday partners in downtown Santa Fe.

A winding road enters the scene from the base of the canvas in the center. It curves to the right before weaving off into the distance to the left. A large, light-colored mesa rises from the right side of the work, its hills sloping down towards the left. Several trees dot the landscape in the foreground, and the sky appears hazy.
