Family Fun Day: Bad to the Bone

  • Sunday, October 8
  • 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM MT
  • EDUCATION ANNEX, 123 GRANT AVENUE, SANTA FE, NM

In honor of the spooky season, learn about O'Keeffe's artistic fascination with the bones she found throughout New Mexico.

Georgia O’Keeffe loved to collect bones. Of bones, O’Keeffe once said, “To me they are as beautiful as anything I know. To me they are strangely more living than the animals walking around…” In honor of the spooky season, we will be diving into O’Keeffe’s artistic fascination with the bones she found throughout New Mexico. Through a variety of hands-on artmaking, creative activities, and story time, families can explore together what it means to find beauty in the uncanny.

Family Fun Day is a free event for all who attend. Participating families will receive a pass for free admission into the Museum! Please visit us first in the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Education Annex (located at 123 Grant Ave) when you arrive to receive your day pass, campus map, and schedule of activities for the day.

The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum is proud to introduce Family Fun Day! Occurring on the second Sunday of every month, this event aims to bring the community together through hands-on artmaking and storytelling, as well as encouraging kids and families to take a new approach in looking at and interacting with art. Family Fun Day is offered in partnership with the Santa Fe Children’s Museum and Santa Fe Public Libraries.
