Family Day: Chilly Nights & Bright Lights

Enjoy free admission all day for New Mexico residents! Light up your week with a hand-made luminaria!

Join us for a special Family Day in celebration of the winter season. In New Mexico, a farolito is a traditional holiday decoration consisting of a paper bag, partially filled with sand, and a candle, typically a votive or tea light. These glowing bags are often placed along walkways, rooftops, and around homes to create a festive and warm atmosphere. While often called farolitos, they are also referred to as luminarias in some parts of New Mexico! Bring the whole family to join us in creating these wonderful decorations to light up your front yards!
