Online Class: Intermediate Watercolors

Join us for a class that will help to take your watercolor painting to the next level! In this class, we will go beyond the basics of watercolor. Participants will explore color and tonal compositions inspired by nature as seen in our environment, personal home collections, and the endlessly thought and emotion-provoking art of Georgia O’Keeffe. In a combination of technique demonstration and practice, this workshop is great for anyone looking to build skills in watercolor, already maintains a watercolor practice, enjoys basking in the beauty around them, or is looking for a freeing and fluid experience grounded in nature.

This class is suitable for youth ages 12 and up. Children are welcome to participate alongside their adults.

Space is limited, reservations required.

This program will take place via the video conferencing app – ZOOM. Details for accessing the Zoom meeting will be with your receipt upon registering and again sent via email the day prior. Please register in advance in order to access the program.

Note that all program times are in Mountain Time.

Supplies needed for this class:

• Watercolor paints
• Watercolor paper
• Varied watercolor, acrylic, or ink brushes
• A sharpened pencil (HB or harder works well)
• White gum eraser
• Paper-towels
• A container with clean water
• Masking fluid for experimentation (not required)
• A photograph will be provided for inspiration. Please feel free to bring your own photo, object, or living being to work from

About the Instructor

Gal Senderowitsch is a Santa Fe-based multimedia artist who draws inspiration from nature, dreams, and the human condition. She graduated with her BFA in printmaking from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and is currently pursuing her MA in Art Therapy in Santa Fe, NM. Her media of choice are aqueous media, monotypes, woodcut printmaking, charcoal and pastel drawing, and oil painting. She is a recipient of various awards from prestigious art institutions and groups in Philadelphia, including the Print Center, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Color Print Society. Gal has exhibited her work in various locations, such as Abington Art Center, Chestnut Hill Gallery, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Plastic Club, Old City Jewish Arts Center, Greenpoint Gallery, and the Canvas in New York City.

This class is being offered on a sliding scale:

$10; minimal fee.

$20; covers the cost of the class.

$30; covers the cost of the class, plus a contribution to support educational programs.
