Georgia O’Keeffe Museum De-Accessions Three Paintings
Auctions benefit the Museum’s acquisition fund
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—November 30, 2018 (Santa Fe, NM) — This month, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum de-accessioned three paintings by American artist Georgia O’Keeffe, A Street (1926), Calla Lilies on Red (1928), Cottonwood Tree in Spring (1943). The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum periodically de-accessions works of art as part of its collections management practices. The Museum selected the paintings for auction with the support of the donors and Board of Trustees. Proceeds from de-accessioned works help grow the Museum’s acquisition fund. The Museum strictly designates 100% of the acquisition fund for future fine art purchases.
