Conservation Conversation
Georgia O’Keeffe Museum head of conservation, Dale Kronkright, joins the Museum’s communications manager, Mara Harris, in conversation about how artwork is preserved.
All things, from fragile watercolors to stone monuments, need repair at some time after they’ve been made. How does the science and art of maintaining artwork work? Dale talks about how the process has evolved over time, from patching existing damage to getting ahead of it and repairing damage before it’s visible to the naked eye. Mara and Dale will also talk about how close examination of O’Keeffe’s artwork sheds light on her artistic process.
