October 2010 - The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum has elected to deaccession Canna Red and Orange, 1926, oil on canvas, 20 x 16, in accordance with its policy on deaccessioning, which tracks the deaccession policy of the Association of Art Museum Directors. The receipts from the sale will augment the Museum’s Acquisitions Fund and will be used only for the acquisition of other works for the Museum's collections.  Works chosen for deaccession are generally works that are duplicative of other works in the collections.  The Acquisition Fund allows the Museum to pursue opportunities to acquire works important to the Museum's holdings.
