Museum Collection

Picture
  • The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is the largest repository
    of O'Keeffe's work in the world.
  • The Museum owns more than 1,100 of O'Keeffe's paintings, drawings, and sculptures, dating from 1901 to 1984.
  • Exhibitions include selections from the permanent collection,
    O'Keeffe works from other collections, the art of her
    contemporaries, and that of Living Artists of Distinction.
Research Center

  • The Research Center is the only museum-related research facility in the world dedicated to the artistic legacy of Georgia O'Keeffe and the study of American Modernism.
  • The archival collection housed in the Research Center includes the libraries O'Keeffe maintained as well as her personal property.
  • The Research Center brings scholars to Santa Fe to do research in the fields of art, design, literature, music and photography.

Historic Properties

  • The landscape surrounding O'Keeffe's homes in Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch inspired many of her most iconic works.
  • The Museum maintains the Abiquiu Home * Studio almost as O'Keeffe left them upon her move to Santa Fe in 1984
  • Public tours of the Abiquiu Home and Studio are available, allowing visitors to experience the environment in which O'Keeffe lived and created.


Education & Outreach

  • The Education Department offers numerous programs designed to expose youth to the arts, including the award winning "Art and Leadership Program".
  • The Museum opens its galleries to more than 4,500 school children each year, free of charge.
  • Additional education opportunities include adult enrichment and family programs and educator development opportunities.
