Scholarship Program Information
Scholarships are available for periods of three-to-twelve months, are not renewable, and cannot be extended. Recipients are expected to be in residence during the scholarship period and to take part in the life of the Research Center.

Eligibility and Selection

Scholarships are awarded to (a) doctoral candidates who have fulfilled all preliminary requirements for the Ph.D. and are under the direction of a faculty member from their own institution, (b) scholars who hold a doctorate or comparable degree and/or experience, and (c) museum professionals.

Applicants are expected to be able to communicate satisfactorily in English. A Selection Committee of scholars in relevant fields reviews applications. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the innovative quality of the proposed project and the originality and intellectual rigor of the individual's previous scholarly work. Applicants are notified in the spring of the scholarship year.

Applications
Applications must consist of the following: a completed application form, a research proposal (limited to 1500 words), a curriculum vitae (limited to 10 pages), a financial information form, and the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of those from whom recommendations have been requested.

Applications must be submitted in English and postmarked no later than the Monday following Thanksgiving. Late applications and those sent electronically (e-mail, fax) will not be considered. Please do not submit applications with staples, paperclips, or folders attached.

Letters of recommendation from three different individuals should be sent directly to the Research Center and postmarked no later than the Monday following Thanksgiving. Application materials will not be returned.
