On Thursday, November 15, 2012 
The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum will celebrate the 125th birthday of Georgia O’Keeffe. In recognition, the Museum is honoring all that O’Keeffe’s life meant to American art with the events below. All proceeds from these events will support the Museum’s exhibitions, public programming, and youth outreach programs—including the nationally recognized Art and Leadership Programs for Girls and for Boys. Mark your calendar—the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum looks forward to celebrating with you!

Wednesday, November 14
1 & 6 PM:  Film Screenings: Bone Wind Fire

Join us for Bone Wind Fire, a film that uses the words of artists Georgia O’Keeffe, Emily Carr, and Frida Kahlo to reveal their individual creative processes. Introduced by Sharyn Rohlfsen Udall, author of Carr, O’Keeffe, Kahlo: Places of Their Own, the book that inspired director Jill Sharpe to make this 30-minute, award-winning film for the National Film Board of Canada. Thursday, November 15
10 AM–5 PM:  Free Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Admission All Day 

10 AM–1 PM:  Georgia O’Keeffe’s 125th Birthday Party

The O’Keeffe Museum and the Santa Fe School of Cooking present a celebration featuring stories and food representing Georgia’s life. Demonstration-style class boasts desserts from two era’s that shaped her career: the Roaring Twenties and Great Depression in New York City, and the Forties wartime in New Mexico.  6 PM:  Georgia O’Keeffe: Reading the Work as the Life

A Lecture by O’Keeffe Biographer Roxana Robinson

This illustrated talk explores O’Keeffe’s rich and complex body of work, paying particular attention to the ways in which it illuminates the artist’s life. Lecture by Roxana Robinson, biographer, art historian, and novelist. Location: St. Francis Auditorium, New Mexico Museum of Art, 107 W. Palace Avenue. $5; Members and Business Partners, Free. Saturday, November 17
 1–4 PM:  Family Program: Happy Birthday, Georgia O’Keeffe! 

Help us celebrate Georgia O’Keeffe’s 125th birthday by joining in the festivities with various activities and fun.  Location: Meet at Museum Education Annex, 123 Grant Avenue. No reservations needed.

  7 PM:  Jazz Concert Celebrating Georgia O’Keeffe

Jazz it up in recognition of Georgia’s 125th birthday celebration with multi-Grammy nominee, singer/pianist, Karrin Allyson. A four-time Grammy Award nominee, Allyson has 13 recordings to her credits, including her most recent 2011 release: “Round Midnight.” New York-based singer was also nominated as 2012 female Jazz Singer of the Year by the Jazz Journal Association. Location: La Posada Resort Hotel and Spa, Ballroom; $35 per person/$75 Supporters & Friends.
